IELTS test takers must show a valid identity document on their IELTS exam day. Only unexpired, original documentation is accepted. Students that bring an invalid or no ID to their exams will not be allowed to take the test.
Make sure you have your passport or national ID card (we accept ID cards for Swiss or EU citizens only) at hand, as you will need to upload a clear photocopy of it when you book your test.
Please note that candidates under 18 years of age must be registered in the system by a parent or guardian. The parent/guardian must use their own e-mail address to create the account for the child’s registration.
You must bring your valid ID to the IELTS test room. You must bring the same valid ID (national identity card or passport) you used when you booked your test.
Invalid or expired identification documents will not be accepted. If you cannot provide a valid ID, we can´t let sit the test, according to our partner British Council rules.
IELTS staff will check your identity upon your arrival, the documents you received when you registered for the IELTS test will confirm which ID you’ll need.
As an additional security measure, IELTS staff will take a photograph of you before you sit the test. This photo will be used on your Test Report Form.
